Carole’s love of painting began while attending CCAC design school, and her recent return to the easel and dedication to abstract modern acrylic painting has been deeply fulfilling. Her compositions are ethereal and offer representations of land, water and sky as metaphor. Collectors appreciate the unique blend of colors and movement captured in these modern interpretations of place. Carole's work is informed by travel, memories, attachments, loss and renewal, revealing a mind scape that unfolds on each canvas.

Layering and texture are a hallmark of Carole’s work, using gesso, mixed mediums and a proprietary paste to impart an intriguing background texture. Thoughtfully blended acrylic colors are applied as a transparent wash, and worked over multiple times to develop a sheer layered effect. This lengthy process of building up textures is at the core of Carole’s process of building time & space into each unique piece.
